[Thehostingnews] Web Hosting Solutions Firm, Hosting.com, Opens Third Corporate Data Center
The new downtown Tier III data center will feature N+1 cooling and N+2 power redundancy, both AC and DC power capabilities, and a high density blade center that will allow customers 30 kilowatts of power for their equipment. Darren King, President and CEO of Hosting.com remarked, "We're excited about growing our managed hosting and colocation businesses at our headquarters in Louisville. We have spent the last nine months evaluating facilities all over the U.S., and we're pleased to select Louisville for this expansion. To our knowledge, this will be the largest commercial data center in the Commonwealth of Kentucky that was built as a data center from the ground up. There simply is not another facility like in the area."After careful evaluation of data centers around the country for potential expansions, the Hosting.com management team decided it made more sense to take best practices from other great technology markets such as Silicon Valley, Boston, and Los Angeles and apply them to Louisville where labor, power and infrastructure costs are lower. Mr. King added, "In Louisville, we're able to provide clients the same high level of data center service, support, and security while also passing along the savings.''Hosting.com currently owns and operates data centers in Louisville, Kentucky and Irvine, California. The company plans to keep both Louisville data centers open following the new data center grand opening in June of 2007. Hosting.com has already begun reserving capacity for its national and international customers in the new data center that are attracted to Louisville for business continuance and disaster planning because of the low risk of natural disasters and its central location. In addition to Louisville, Hosting.com is continuing to pursue data center acquisitions in other markets. For more information about Hosting.com, please visit: www.hosting.com.
