[Thehostingnews] Web Hosting Provider, GlobalWebBrands, Debuts Enterprise Plan, Supports PHP 5
GlobalWebBrands' three previous plans (Business, Corporate, and Enterprise), combined into one offering, the Enterprise hosting plan, offers unlimited domain hosting, and other features that many of GlobalWebBrands' customers have been requesting for some time, such as SSH access. The new Enterprise plan has the same $9.99 per month price as GlobalWebBrands' previous Enterprise hosting plan. The free web design service will continue to be offered with the Enterprise hosting package.Daniel J. Briere, CEO of GlobalWebBrands commented, "We continuously received the same requests from many of our users, and we finally decided to go all out in meeting their needs. It's taking a big risk for us to offer only one hosting plan, but in the end, it's better, too. We can focus more of our resources on helping users on one plan, instead of losing efficiency and trying to manage multiple plans."In addition to refining its web hosting offerings, GlobalWebBrands introduced official support for PHP 5. A new section has been introduced in the hosting Control Panel that allows customers to easily manage the way their PHP-based applications are handled and run by the Web server. Customers can now choose whether PHP 4 or PHP 5 is used by default. PHP 5 is now officially supported on all servers. In a statement addressing customers about the new PHP Management section of the web hosting control panel, Mr. Briere explained, "There are several differences in the configuration and in the way certain functions and expressions are handled. PHP 4 has a larger installed base at this point, but since PHP is a server side script, it will hardly affect the end user. PHP 5 is simply a newer release, which offers its own improvements and add-ons. However, there might be some incompatibility issues when certain applications are run on both versions. You should use PHP 5 only if it is required by the script author."Since August 2004, GlobalWebBrands has provided shared web hosting services across the world. Operating under the 'GlobalWebBrands' name since January 1st, 2005, the company was twice awarded by HostReview.com as a Top 10 Fastest-Growing Host in 2006. GlobalWebBrands is a debt-free company, based in Mechanicsville, Virginia-USA, with offices in Florida-USA; London, UK; and Sofia, Bulgaria. For more information about GlobalWebBrands, please visit: www.globalwebbrands.com.
