[Thehostingnews] Dedicated Server Management for Tibet Finance Ministry, Provided by Minicom

Tibet's finance ministry operates an extensive number of servers, accessed and controlled by a number of EZ-Link KVM switches. However, without online IP capability or non-blocking access to the servers the ministry was struggling to maintain efficient work flow management. Once installed, the DX system provides the ministry's IT staff with non-blocking access, enabling up to eight users to control any number of servers via a secure out-of-band connection over CAT5 cable.Michael Lahav, Regional Sales Manager for Minicom explained, "The DX System was exactly the solution the ministry was looking for. They now have simultaneous multi-user access as well as online access to the servers. This improves the level of work efficiency and increases the convenience and usability of the servers. Operating in a more streamlined work environment, productivity is up and any problems can now be solved far quicker resulting in reduced downtime." KVM IP access, serial control, power management and user administration all come under the DX's control, making it an extremely powerful management solution. DX's remote access capability also means that users in other buildings could access and control the servers from a standard web-browser over a secure IP connection. At the beginning of the year, the company publicly launched its digital signage blog, dedicated to happenings in the world of digital signage. Its aim is to become a central location for digital signage-related news, discussion, industry chatter and events summary; where people come to find out about and discuss what is happening in digital signage.Minicom, one of the most respected names in digital signage, will be using its expertise and knowledge to be an impartial and objective voice about what is occurring in the world of digital signage. The blog will not be focusing solely on Minicom news and events but anything of note that is related to digital signage. The launch of the digital signage blog coincides with Screen Expo 2007 in London from where Minicom will be live-blogging. Recent reports announced that by the end of the decade, the North American market for digital signage will be worth more than $3 billion. Currently the digital signage market represents some $750 million annually. Out of home media is becoming more and more widespread with digital signage responsible for most of it. Eran Kessel, Vice-President of Marketing at Minicom remarked, ''The Minicom digital signage blog combines two technological developments which are becoming more and more prevalent in everyday life.
