Basking Ridge, New Jersey - (The Hosting News) - June 20 2007 - Web host and Internet solutions firm, Verizon Business, has entered into an agreement to acquire privately held provider of global information security services firm, Cybertrust. Financial terms of the deal expected to close in 60 to 90 days,

The acquisition is hoped to make Verizon Business a leading provider of managed information security services to large-business and government customers worldwide. By combining Cybertrust's global presence and customer base, focused security expertise and professional services with Verizon Business' ''cloud-to-core'' security portfolio, global IP network and financial strength, the acquisition creates a powerful and unique player that will redefine the global security landscape.
Cybertrust is an information security firm with 800 employees and operations in 30 locations across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region -- is a critical data security firm, that endeavors to protect identities and help customers demonstrate ongoing compliance. Services include identity management, managed security services, vulnerability/threat management, security certification programs and a full range of professional services including enterprise-wide quantified risk analysis, individual application assessments, and forensics and incident response services.

According to industry analyst firm Frost and Sullivan, the managed security services market is growing exponentially and is projected to exceed $6 billion by 2011.
