Atlanta, Georgia - (The Hosting News) - September 7, 2007 - Colocation data center and carrier neutral facility located in Atlanta Georgia, AtlantaNAP, has completed its new 2 megawatt UPS expansion, a system designed to provide power in the coming year, as well as provide true redundancy as an alternate a/b power arrangement.
The system consists of 5 500 kw MGE EPS units in a parallel frame with full wraparound bypass. This allows us to provide N+1 redundancy to users primary on the system. It is backed up by a 2 megawatt parallel N+1 redundant generator system that is made up of 5 500 KW generators paralleled together.
Power from the system became available August 31, 2007. The expansion was undertaken, due to the high demand for corporate collocation and disaster recovery the NAP has been experiencing.
The AtlantaNAP is a large scale datacenter and disaster recovery center, built by the owners of Global Net Access (GNAX) after 12 years in the Internet business. The AtlantaNAP features include a carrier class facility with cost-effective prices. Built out of a retrofitted A and P meat freezer warehouse, the facility includes a steel beam frame and rebar reinforced 4 inch poured concrete roofs and no windows. The exterior is maintained with solid brick on block construction.
