The world of tech

I remember growing up my parents (mostly my father) would complain that things are just "fine the way they are", now we live in a work where if my email is down more than an hour I am starting to freak out. This goes into the point of the world of tech, we are almost fully consumed by it.

I never mind a day off (who doesn't) but when you can not get any work done with having say a power outage (which I am sure I will get today when the massive storms come in) or just a net fluke (where my net was down yesterday for 4+ hrs for "no reason" the ISP could give me), it makes me worry what happens if (and forbid this) it all "went away" for longer than just a couple of hours?

:rolleyes2

I'm just like you, I would freak out lol The net is my life basicly. I do all my business over the net and I need the net to stay in business. I never thought about the 'what if' senerio. Kind of scary aint it?

Fortunately, I still have my hair salon, so if the Net completely disappeared, I'd survive. Saying that, I love technology and the Internet.

Well, I'm up there every morning and every evening. Two days ago I got a call that we had no water, and one of our stylists had color on a client's hair that needed to be washed out. So out to Walgreen's to purchase water in containers - a water main broke on the street close by. Stuff happens in every business. I have lots of stories. LOL.

lol wow steve..what a super hero! I bet that client was very happy to be able to get the color out of their hair.

Depends on how long she had to wait. :D
Fortunately not long. That could have developed into a real nightmare. I've been drinking a lot of water lately - left over from the Walgreen's trip. I still have 10 gallons in reserve. :)

Very good topic. Unfortunately, with the growth of technology I think people grow more and more impatient. I just obtained a Blackberry because my work load as increased greatly.

I think leaving the phone in the car when you go somewhere helps the situation. You do not need to take your phone if your going to get your hair cut. You do not need your phone when your taking a walk. You need time away from technology especially when you work in the field daily.

I love the world of tech! Without it, I would collapse. My life is DHD, and my computer, and cell phone. Without those 3, I would be extremely lost! Life would not be the same. If my email on my cell phone stops working for a couple of minutes, I get on the phone with my provider. Is this too obsessive?

I not to worry about anything with technology. I more worry about the econmy then anything. Plus the USA. the gov't is killing us slowly. Rise up and read your rights

I am in the process of starting a energy company that is going to be great.
