The importance of branding a reseller account?

Most of the control panel software out there allows one to brand their individual reseller accounts with a company logo along with colors. Is this important? The majority hosting providers that I have run into do not seem to care, so is it a waste of time?

I dont think it's a waste of time, all of our servers have a re-branded, re-designed cpanel skin, I think it shows that a company is dedicated to perfection.

Plus I think the cpanel x skin is kind of ugly.

I like the RVSkins RVBlue skin, which can easily be branded with a text link.

I use RVSkin because I can brand it to my name, and my resellers have their skin manager to brand their own stuff in so it makes them look less like resellers.

Branded Reseller accounts? No way, the whole pivot point to our reseller hosting is the fact that we are totally transparent, everything from the nameservers, to the control panel.

we dont brand accounts - we do our best to be transaprent for resellers.

We do offer rvskins though - not many clients use it though, it is looking quite dated next to xp2004 skins etc. . .

Howdy,

I am new to this forum, so, I thought I would chime in. I have not edited the CPANEL view that my clients see. Since it is CPANEL, my clients only care that it is their Control Panel.

If the CPANEL showed the name of the actual company selling me the hosting services, I would brand it.

I do find it important to have my customers seeing me as their host, and not the bigger name company. That is why I always ensure I can have custom name servers.

Well one of the nice things about Rvskins is that it allows our resellers to customize the skin and brand it. It really provides the best of both worlds.

It?s not a complete custom skin but it does the trick here is a link to a screenshot.

I like the idea of being able to brand your own control panels, this allows for a more professional image for the reseller when they start up their own hosting business.

But how much does that skin cost per server?

RvSkin is sold as a per server license and is very inexpensive. It's much more than skins as it allows you complete control to include or remove icons from your customers cPanel.

In addition to what ontime was mentioning (includes 14 skins w/20 languages for your use), the latest version includes the new custom skinning template engine (in beta) whereas you can virtually create your own skin for cPanel (using Smarty template engine) and never worry about the backend (i.e.: when cPanel updates, your skins will continue to work). Here is the sample skin which is included with the beta: http://rvskin.com/templatesystem/index.htm and the subpage: http://rvskin.com/templatesystem/subpage.htm

I'd definately recommend RvSkin. Our users just love it (along with the admins)! :D

I would appreiciate a host that re-brands their control panels it just show me a level of competance and pride in thier business. Kind of off the topic but I have recently seen a Cpanel demo on a host (forgot the name) that doesn't work. it's crazy!
