Software to design pages

Which is the best software to design web pages? I am using Dreamweaver MX and knows only the basics of this program. I like it as I find it useful to complete my works. But, I want to know and study about this software so as to do more designing works. Are there any website that teach the same in simple ways? Are there any other softwares that are easier to use than Dreamweaver?

I use a mix of Dreamweaver/Photoshop/Flash/Notepad. Each software does it's own part for me.

You should try Microsoft Frontpage, it's easier to use than Dreamweaver. It just has a few less features, but overall it's a good software application. I used to use it a lot earlier, when I couldn't afford Dreamweaver, since FP came with my MS software bundle. Other than that sometimes I just use notepad and start from scratch :D

I tend to use Notepad and Xint.

From a basic point of view Dreamweaver/Frontpage seem to be the most common applications.

Thanks for the advice and suggestions. I am not good with HTML, and so needs an easy application. I find that Dreamweaver is a very good software to do the job - if we know something more on it. I have problems while using anchor, and also using frames. I wish to study more on this. I know that it is because of the inexperience, so I need to study more.

I use Dreamweaver and Fireworks myself, you can try front page it is easier to use than Dreamweaver you should find using the frames a lot easier etc.

You can create your frames in frontpage and save it all and then open it up in Dreamweaver and edit it so you shouldn't have any problems with that.

Thank you for this information. I think it will be easier for me to create frames in Frontpage - than doing the same in Dreamweaver.

Thanks for the advice and sharing the link. I feel that it will be easier if I get such websites that offer tutorials on Dreamweaver.

More than using any software, you should get use to that. You will be a good designer only in the software in which you can put the content what is there actually in your mind. I personally think dreamweaver is the best because, there is no restriction for the type of pages it opens, it can be a php or it can be html or it can be any web supporting files. You can very easily edit the file which you want to upload it to your server.
Tutorials I advice you to go for w3schools.com which has everything for beginners.
