Hey,
Im looking for a script that will alert me of any services going down on the server by sending an email.
Also want something that will keep stats on the services and the uptime for each service and the overall server.

Anyone know of any?
Thanks

I how not yet find a script also I will like to know one also. But I use alertra.com

There use to be one good one but they guy took it down. I use alertra and it even calls me when the server goes down. Can be pricy but not too bad if it checks every hr. I think I pay $5 - $7 p/m for every hr check on port 80.

Hi Gordy,

Yeah, they had a known issue - ended up sending out a whole lot of false downtime reports - they got it resolved pretty quickly and have been flawless since then.

Not sure what the problem was, but their support staff was friendly and communicative - I havent really held it against them...

But...it may have caused you alot more grief... Sorry you had a bad experience...

www.siteuptime.com seems pretty good.
Has everything I need really.
Anyone know of anywhere that does SMS alerts including in the price?

Its .20 for each SMS sent out using siteuptime.com but would like one that has that including in the monthly price

Siteuptime does it's premium service for $10 a month. I had to cut it out of budget since server got all the cash. But for now, it's well worth it. It worked like a charm, checks every 5 mins, http ftp pop3 ssh ect, very good service. I recommend them!

why not try nagios?

Thats what I have on the server for HostingRefuge now
Great script and it checks every 90 seconds and alerts me of any downtime.

I would like it even more if it make it more obvious what the total uptime is for the server as well as show how long the server was down when it sends the recovery alert.
That would be great information to have just at hand.

It was already all setup for me by the company I bought the dedicated from and Im more than happy with it :)
