That is a good point but at the same time you have to be very carefull becasue many people go and register a domain name without thinking and then they regret it later due to it not being so great, but most of the time with any domain if you can find a buyer you can make a few bucks.
It used to be a big business and there are still auction sites that will pay you to park with them and if they get a buyer they will sell it for you, and some make good money. Godaddy is a popular site for that, but there are others too for anyone who want to do it as a business.
