Review uptimestatus.com

Hello artofmobile,

Firstly, Welcome to the forums hopefully you will stick around :)
As for the design I like the design it's funky, it's fresh and it's new.

However the only think I don't like personally is the Links on the left does not match the background of the green maybe change the color of the Links or the Background.

However other people may like it;

Thanks for your comment, I will have another thought about the links.

After being label as plain, ugly for about 1/2 year, I have enough and decided to make some changes to the look and feel. Take a look at the archieve image at http://www.whois.sc/uptimestatus.com and you know what I mean.

If you compare the old and current look, basically, there is not much changes except the logo.

I'm not really a fan of animated logos, but it seems you want to achieve a fresher look, so I guess it's okay :)

Your background is white, but the buttons at the top have a gray background, which makes them look a bit out of place. Maybe you should crop the backgrounds of the buttons.

The color of the table of links at the side is also too different from the color scheme of your site. As much as possible, try using similar shades/colors. The green background and the red links clash, which makes it harder to read the links.

You may also want to not make your width fixed, so if people with smaller browsers view your site will not need to scroll horizontally. :)

sorry for my opinion but I'm a designer and I think it looks as if it was created in 5 minutes maximum. You should really have at least color scheme as now it has all different colors all over the page. Blue scrollbar not cool at all as the only thing it matches is menu to the top. Dark green menu to the left and dark brown items on it not only look bad but very hard to read. Also all parts of the website seems to be from different layouts. I would really recommend to work out better design, imho.

just read the thread again and noticed I'm not the only one who thinks the color scheme should be applied.

It seems a little simple is all. I would suggest sprucing up the images and the overall design in general. Maybe add some graded backgrounds, and some rounded edges here and there. The top buttons do not seem to fit into the overall design of the website.

The main thing, and the most important thing when it comes to design is to make certain the site flows nicely. If the site flows nicely, then the viewers eyes will flow with it, and therefore you will have a visitor staying with your site and not moving onto the next best thing.

Hope this helps.
