Review: ExonNet.net

Hi John ...

I have a couple comments ... looking at your site from a visitor/potential customer point of view (not that I am a potential customer :) )

As a customer ... I feel more comfortable considering a web host who chooses to tell me the physical address of their company on their Contact page. Also ... I like to know where the web servers are ... not necessarily a specific address but even knowing the state helps.

And being the inconsistent anal retentive SOB :) ... you may want to check your "our network" page. Part way down ...
"Three Tier 1 providers with a focus on INternational peering, " I think you meant it to be International :) Sorry ... couldn't stop myself from mentioning it ;)

Take care ... Good Luck ... Happy Holidays
Peter

Peter,
I fixed that Network page (don't worry about being the anal retentive SOB, it helps! :) ) and am working in my location (Iowa) into the site now.

Our reseller site already has this information listed:
http://reseller.exonnet.net

But it's not set to launch until 2005 :)

I would just change that live-chat off image...the blue is quite contrasting and the background of the button is conflicting with the actual div's bgcolor. Other than that, its a pretty nice looking site. Congrats!

Well, we're probably going to be dropping LivePerson's LiveChat feature and opt for a different service. From what I've seen it's just not worth it. We could have them design logos to match our website (as that's part of the package price) but it's just not worth the monthly fees from what I've found. Our Ticket System and E-mail system works just fine for now.

Equinox - thing is to have you as an operator alone it'd cost me nearly $100/month. The ROI on that is just not profitable enough right now.

There is no "installing" on the server - you only install it on your personal computer and then from there your computer connects to an LP server which gets information from tags you input on your server.

These tags gather the visitor's current page, IP address, and recalls the previous chat sessions. All in all it's a great program, very intelligent, runs great and has the canned responses feature which is handy. However, as I stated ROI is not enough to make it worth while.

I totally understand. Please keep me in mind, when it does become a possiblity, as I would certainly be interested!

I like the tight look although graphics are quite large.

You need some homepage text and to blend in that Sorry We;re closed button" into gray background. Appearance is everything at first.

Nice though...

Hey John,

Overall I think you have a nice site going for yourself there. The only thing that keeps throwing me off is the dotted border. Something about it makes me look at the site as a portal page somehow.

My eyes never even pick up the dotted border - I guess I'm not as observant as some :) Any other opinions on the border? I never really had any decent reviews of the site - just friends and associates who said it "looks good".

Will look into shrinking the graphics.

John,
I like the colors, and the layout is super clean. I think the contrast is a bit over the top though. But thats not my real compailnt. ... lol .. anyway, I love your logo concept, I think the middle image in the logo of the to "kids" at the computer terminals looks very un-pro. That picture looks like college kids in a computer lab or something. Backpack throw on hte floor, chair spun around, they look sloppy... the image just does not convey prefessionalism to me. Not trying yo harp on your work, lol but you asked for it!
