RedHat... will you convert?

Well, a very simply and basic question:

-> When RedHat stops supporting RedHat Linux 7.3, will you
swap to say RedHat Linux 8 or even 9?

Let us all know your answers. :)

new servers will be setup with RH9, the cobalts have a custom RH anyway, but we wont be changing the o/s on the others just because it's EOLifed

Hi,

Yes, I have a few Red Hat 7.3 Dedicated Servers and in the process of upgrading those to Red Hat 9 remotely :)

Thanks.

Kindest regards,
Choon

Using custom builds with cpanel kinda makes it harder to just swap an OS. I wouldn't want to do an OS swap on a server in use anyways... maybe leapfrog sites to new servers with the new OS some day though.

Not all servers come with RedHat Linux 9.0 ;)
As far as I'm aware a lot of datacenters do still supply 8.0, one of
those being Nocster and actually quite a few others. Lots too
also still supply 7.3 since it is only being unsupported in December
this year, or was it October? Anyhow - it is still in for support and
therefore people still offer it.

Good on yas Choon! ;) :D

I agree, using a custom build of cPanel does make it somewhat
hard. Although, I wouldn't mind doing a swap of OS on an active
server with all standard normal software running. I mean, your
clients may even be happier to the fact you're keeping software
updated. ;)

I think he was talking about his own servers coming with RedHat 9 from now on...
