Hello,

I'm looking for a really good host with php 5.0.5 and mysql - 4.1.21

It must be fast, good space etc.

Ideally I'de like it in the UK....but its so much more expensive :(

I've been having trouble finding one that offers both these. The hosting websites generally don't give that much detail, but any I've emailed only have one, the other or none!

While waiting for the answer to your question raised in another thread about why UK is so much more expensive than in the US (I'd like to know the answer myself), could you specify what kind of hosting are you looking to get recommendation on - is it shared, reseller, vps, dedicated? I can only guess you are looking for a regular shared hosting account.

Check out http://www.hostingdepartment.net or their U.K sister site http://www.ukeasily.co.uk/ .

I'd suggest you to check with support and chat, find how forthcoming a host is with respect to your queries and if they truely are, you'll enjoy hosting with them. Going through testimonials alone wouldn't help much.

I have used Hsting Department.net myself, so i can say it is pretty much reliable and fast. php5 is also available with them.
 
Hello. I guess that there are plenty of hosters offering php5. As far as I know www.********** provide php5 as well. They have live support and billing assistance.
In any case searching offer section here will help you.

I guess if you can provide specifications like space, bandwidth, programming languages, control panel, host online for or yrs. in service and similar criteria, you'll receive more streamlined and specific replies.

Whichever host, you go with, be sure to confirm their online duration and support lines. Also, share your experience with us, so that fellow netizens and HD'ers can know more about the host, just in case anyone of us were to require services in coming future.
