No need for bad dreams....It's all in the math. You'll always get a number that's divisible by 9. Therefore, you'll notice that all of the multiples of 9 are the same symbol. Sorry to spoil your fun :(

Yes, it's true. Math is usefull for something. ;)
 
I understand the math. But how does it figure out which number I've chosen (and therefore displays the correct symbol)?

They change every time you load it. For instance, I did their example of answer being 18 - if you look at the number 18 everytime it reloads the list to "Try again" it changes the symbols. That way you don't notice.


Oh, and no matter what numbers you choose I believe it'll always be a division of 9, so all the ones that are multiples of 9 are the same icon.

I do magic as a hobby. Try this, and it may help you understand it.

You already know that math is involved.

Now, after you calculate your totals.....look at the symbol that appears there. WAIT, don't push the crystal just yet. Rather, pick a new number, and do your calculation, and look at the symbol that appears there.

The trick is, every time you press the crystal, and get your symbol, they mix the symbols again. However, when they mix the symbols, they make sure that the same symbol appears at the appropriate mathmatical position.
