How many people here use press releases for advertising?

Not really done this my self. I have been meaning to do it one day but just get overrun with lots of other things.

Press Releases are good to do if you have something compelling to say. We find it a very effective way to get a lot of exposure and branding.

There are services out there that can help to get the PR out. Check out prweb.com for example.

Where do you tale e-mails for sending press releases? I'm asking as some hosts equal that to spamming...

While you are on the web reading news, check out the sections that say "submit news", "submit PR", or "contact us". Basically make a media list. When you have something compelling to announce, then send the PR piece to that list.

No one is suggesting to spam people.
