Poll: Business Revenue

Hallo All:

Now I am not asking you to post actual revenue numbers in the thread. I do not care to know what everyone makes here. I have attached a poll to this thread and feel free to comment on anything below. I'm curious to know what the average hosting company does in yearly revenue.

From being an event organize and a past hoster myself, I have some ideas. I'm trying to get a feel for how many small, medium, and large hosts are around here.
 
I see 1 person clicked the $50,000.00 - $99,999.99 range...nice! lol I myself am still small time but am moving up pretty quick. I hope by next summer to make $10,000.00 - $19,999.99 | $20,000.00 - $49,999.99 ranges.
 
It was me. I looked over accounting data and I actually was one lower than I should have been. Shoot for high goals bud. You have reoccuring revenue on your side. Make it work for you. You should easily be able to do $100 k per year by next year.
 
Thanks Zachary, I am doing my best :) Anyways, this business is tough but if you know how to work it you can easily make good income :P
 
romes, yes when this business is good it is great. when this business is bad, it is horrible. Shoot for the stars and make sure your smiling while doing it.
 
Great advice to keep smiling. Persistance is the key. Pick just one thing each day going beyond what you did yesterday and the day before, and your company will grow.
 
Our story didn't start with web hosting or Internet access - it grew into those industries. Just keep plugging away, Romes. :D
 
wow....Steve you must be an amazing sales person. You racking up the deals right now. :) Everyone can get to that level if they work at it and want it. I find on a daily basis that I can learn any skill I need to grow in the business world. It just depends on how bad I want it.

My business with partners failed because they caused me not to want it. When I work bby myself, I want it much more. It is my butt on the line if I don't come through.
 
When it's your butt on the line, it certainly elevates the necessity to step up to the plate and perform. The best of success to you, Zachary. :)
 
Wow, who did the $1,000,000.00+? Can I have some cookies please?

Really though, we are still "small time", but we have clients on our side that *love* us, decent sales (except during those "hard times") and we are working to grow just as I am sure many others out there are.

I find it interesting as well, come across a web master forum like this for this specific industry, compared to many others out there - why are we so civil when we talk and help and chat, is everyone else just crazy? :D

I’d go as far as saying that potentially a lot of us here are here for that reason, I think HD hasn’t turned into a WHT and the community is as such better off for it, considering many of our companies are here from different backgrounds and different stages of their development and yet information is shared openly and fruitfully :)
 
The majority of members on WHT will critize your post, or bash your company if you say the wrong thing. Member on HD will call you out if a post doesnt look right but they dont bash or say anythign negative.

HD is civil and has a friendly environment. Art has done an amazing job and I hope HD stays like this forever! :)

I agree WHT community is out there. I like HD a lot more then WHT.

While I immensely appreciate the vote of confidence and support, let's try to keep the conversation on topic. Its actually very refreshing to follow other companies' success and learn from them. The fact that they enjoy sharing advice is what makes a hosting community unique!

Anyways, It's nice to see people actually telling the truth and picking field their in on the poll. Most hosts will lie to make selves look good lol

I can't remember which host it was but on WHT a month ago I saw this post of this host saying he just started and had over 400 clients but just started a couple days before and was using a reseller from another host. The post was him getting mad becuase the host didn't do something right or what ever for his reseller package lol

Being honest will get you places :)
