Hi all !

I wanted to know that what all details are we supposed to provide while purchasing a domain name ( complete account with a control pannel)

i am asking you all this question because recently i purchased a domain and the dealer says that you will have to provide me with :

1) Photograph
2) Residential proof certificate !
3) Also a ID proof ( Photo copy)

I am very much confused .... i have already paid for it ??

Which provider did you use?

This is not something that is usually required - at least i have never heard of this.

That would not be the Norm but your order may have tripped a Fraud filter perhaps ??

What is the domain extension? Some country specific domains require proof of residency.

My guess is he wants to purchase a CCTLD, which may need additional information to prove you DO infact live in that country.

Otherwise, for com,net,org, I don't they think require that much information.
