Personal Backup(s) of Site

Exon

My own personal backup of my site is kept on my home computer, office computer, and on a pen drive (256MB). I carry my pen drive around with me wherever I go so I can restore or make modifications to my site pretty much anytime.

What do you do for personal backups? Do you do personal backups? I'm talking more than the onsite and ftp to offsite locations for your site(s)/server(s). Just your simple backup is what I'm looking for.

I always keep a current backup of my own websites on my computer as well as a copy on a CD (just in case ;)) I suggest to the friends I give web space to that they do the same ... I think most have current copies of their sites on their computers as well but I am pretty sure none of them have a secondary backup. Which I feel is foolish. So I keep backups of all sites I host that I update only a few times a year.

But ... I have always been the personification of Murphy's Law ... if its going to happen to someone its going to happen to me, and usually happen to me first ;) So I tend to keep copies and/or backups of anything and every thing that I think is important ;) Just in case my computer & the web server both go bust at the same time. It hasn't happened yet ... but I am positive if I didn't have the backups & redundant backup copies ... it would have happened by now :) Hows that for paranoia hahahaha

Take care
Peter

Well I like to work on my site from home and at the office. So the pen drive escorts the files around and I make sure I have backups on both pcs.
