OS Templates/w Panel..

I've been experimenting with OS templates as a way to speed up the setup process. Right now my VPS are auto provisioned with the requested specs, but from there I've got to manually install cPanel, DirectAdmin, etc..

Through all my research the only way around it would be to create OS templates which included the requested panel. I'd like to know if anyone else is doing this or something similar?

You're using WHMCS, but as I understand WHMCS doesn't yet support auto provisioning through Virtuozzo..?

you can automate with hypervm & whmcs

Yeah, I'll be looking into that. I'm considering moving to WHMCS as I have used it quite a bit in the past, and as I grow it seems to be the best route. I'm working on a new design for my site, so WHMCS and a new site may be a good change.

It does not look like this has been addressed yet.

I assume you are looking for a way to setup Hypervm VPS's with cpanel already installed. This is pretty easy to configure. Just setup a VPS and install gcc, then cPanel through shell. Then Login to Hypervm as admin and create an os template from that VPS. Then when you create a VPS with that OS template cPanel will be installed aswell. No need for manual install. This is not only convenient but much faster to. It takes anywhere from 1 to 2 hours to manually install cPanel. When setting it up from an OS template it takes just a few minutes. If you need more details on how to do this let me know.

You can also do the same thing with directadmin.

It wasn't a matter of me not knowing how to do it, more that I was asking who else does it, just get some feedback.

Ahh, ok, my mistake.

To answer your question then.
Yes.

Just for the sake of being able to setup vps's faster for our clients we do have an os template with centos/cPanel.

Sure, we do it with cPanel, DirectAdmin and LxAdmin templates. DirectAdmin was the most complex to automate but its worth it. Automating is the only way to go if you want to stay sane!
