Optimizing websites for Facebook?

When it comes to getting more traffic to our website, mostly we would optimize our site for search engines. Have you tried to optimize your website for networking sites like Facebook and Twitter?
 
Honestly, that is what I also am curious. I think there must be some ways of optimizing your website for social networking sites. At least, you can optimize your fan pages.
 
I still don't get what you are saying. Are you talking about creating pages on Facebook, or backgrounds on twitter?

Or are you talking about actually optimizing a actual website for social networks, which I don't get what that would even be.
 
I'm not sure how you would do that except by adding Facebook like buttons and widgets and Twitter follow buttons and widgets on your site.
 
I think that optimizing your website for social networks is creating profiles on FB, twitter etc and maybe integrating some social buttons on your website such as like or G+1
 
Twitter and facebook traffic comes when you have a great facebook/twitter page and a lot of followers.
 
You can promote your website in Facebook through post updates; however you cannot optimize it for Facebook. Facebook is a social networking platform, by creating and maintaining a presence there you can direct traffic to youor website. This can be done through blog updates and also through creating a fan page.
 
You can also advertise your site using facebook ads if that is your goal. In essence all these things are optimizations made to promote your site further.
