Old Websites?

Ever go to http://www.archive.org ??
Every once and a while I stop by and live in the past a bit. To pull up the first website I ever put online was pretty fun, but for the most part it's like listening to an old song. It just reminds me of "that time" in my life and I'm sure you all know how that is.

Anyway. Good website. Great to see how things have progressed.. Check it out.
 
Interesting. I tried a number of sites and no history showed beyond 2007 for most. Cbs.com ended in early 2008.
 
I always check it when I need to look up one's history or remind myself of how things were a while back... :)
 
It's a pretty good tool to verify old TOS terms/host offers that the host refuses to acknowledge anymore. That and Google cache.

I remember selling rather expensive hardware consoles to convert programs back then. We have leapfrogged advances in tecknology in the past 15 years that boggle the mind.

Yeah, I think it was ThePlanet's old site I noticed their "as low as $2XX". Now they've got way cheaper servers and certainly far superior to the high-end's of that day. Even looking back 2-3 years there's been a noticeable drop in costs.
 
It surely brings back a lot of memories. It's always fun visiting old sites you create and see how much things change. :)

Was with them when they were EV1, how times have changed....
 
Hey guys hows it going! I just look up my domain cyberworldhxxxxx.com and All I see is a page in aug 21, 2003 does that mean that only one other person has had this name? Also why can't I see the images and stuff.

They save what they can. Sometimes the css/images arn't there, other times they've got way more than you'd expect. It's free so I don't complain.
 
I've used Achieve.org before but not alot. It's neat to see big companies like Google, Yahoo, Hulu how they looked. Thanks for sharing!
