Odd TOS questions

Have any of you guys ever gotten really odd questions about something in your TOS? Or asked a really odd question yourself of any of your providers' TOS?

I haven't had too many odd questions, except for the client who had essentially written a "Joy of Sex"-like book and wanted to host a site for it...with some illustrations from the book (line drawings). They also wanted a readers' discussion forum, and wanted to make very sure that this wouldn't be against the rules. They asked a few times - I guess to make sure that the answer wouldn't change from day to day.

I can remember asking a potential host a question about the difference between bandwidth and data transfer, and their answer was, basically, "I think that they're the same thing." Whomever was fielding questions didn't bother to go and ask someone before replying to the email...

As long as it is legal I see no reason why you couldn't host it. In fact some places host everything that is not legal so I don't see a point to TOS anymore, it only becomes a problem if someone complains.

I view the TOS as part of the client contract. It sets out what is and isn't allowed, and can be used (as you said) in cases of dispute.

The client in question above was allowed, but the person had previously been hosted with a big-name company that said that they didn't want that content on their servers. Either their support techs didn't understand what the content was, or they just were feeling stupid that day. At any rate, we got their business, they're happier, we're happier - it worked out fine. I just haven't gotten any truly outre questions about the client agreement (weirdness just doesn't seem to like me as much), though other people have mentioned some oddball client questions that they've gotten.

I have never been asked any odd questions, I don't get many questions about my TOS and any I do get, are easy to answer with straight quotes from the TOS and just explaining exactly what it means
