Now possible to transfer .ca domains with enom!

I thought it always was possible.

I use enom a lot but I prefer domainsatcost.ca for my .ca domains.

No, it wasn't always possible. They just started allowing this since Nov 29th.

We are enom resellers, so we prefer to use eNom for *all* our domain registration activities.. and also our .ca pricing with them is better then domainsatcost.ca, so it's a better deal. :)

But mostly, it's for the increased convenience of being able to offer .ca registrations *and* transfers for our clients.

Finally! (We've been asking for this ability for over 1.5 years.)

Hi,

An off-topic question: do you need to meet any special requirements to register a .ca domain name?

Thank you.

Regards,

This page also has a lot of info: http://www.cira.ca/en/intro-2004.html

To own a .ca domain you need to have a Canadian presense.
It's good and bad. If you are a domain seller you have a limited potential client base but CIRA also controls domains very well and you don't have people buying up every available domain and just park them somewhere.

A. Registrant: That’s you -- the holder of the domain name registration. In order to register a .CA domain name, you must be of legal age in Canada and have a connection to Canada. By registering a .CA domain name you become a member of CIRA and have the right to vote at CIRA’s Board of Directors’ election and Annual General Meeting.
