Guys, although I'm very experienced at what I do, which is web design and development, I don't have much knowledge about hosting reselling. I have administered more than 100 sites so I know how to properly set up server settings but reselling is completely new thing for me. Now I know I should start learning by reading but can you tell me where to start?

Much obliged!

That article should point you in the right direction but some other things to consider include billing systems and determining what kind of plan is right for you as well as selecting a reliable company at a fair price.

Thanks guys, I will read the article. But that was exactly what I was telling about I don't need. :) Well, I guess there is no other way.

The first step I can think of would be to become a reseller. :)

Come up with at least a rough business plan.
Pricing, services, your business name, sources to advertise, budget, etc.

First of all fix a Web Hosting provider whose servers you wish to resell. Jot down a good business plan.It should include the amount of resources of the server, the pricing and the services that you would be offering to your customers.
Most of hosts would offer technical support to your customers. But if you are good with that, you can do it yourself as well. But,mind that you should be prompt with that,as post sales technical support is crucial for retaining the customers as well as increasing your business.

Another thing to consider when going into reselling, is that the comapny you go with could be either of the following.

a) Another reseller.
b) A reselling company that owns their own data centre.

Be wary, if you end up being a reseller of a reseller, this chain can become quite large and if one of the resellers was to go under and out of business, that would be the end of your reselling days as trying to get things resolved were this to happen are near impossible.

Google around and do some research, read customer reviews...etc...

When you find a reseller you are happy with ensure that you let them know about all of your doubts or queries before joining through their support portal. If you are not 100% happy with the type or response/speed of response you receive, move on and research another one until you're happy.

Patience and caution is the correct route when seeking out a reliable reseller.

It seems that you are new to the web hosting world as well. Then you will need learn the market and competition within it

Simple, find a host that will help you get going and keep you going.

As long as you set customer expectations before you start work then you won't have any problems.

Ensure that the packages you list on your site explain what they're going to be getting for their money then if they ask/need anything beyond this, treat your responses as "best endeavours," sort of help and/or explain that they need to upgrade their services if their needs change.

Its a lot of work, Look around the forums and at many threads read everything and you will learn real fast its the way I did it.
