Need Help w/ Domain and WebHost

I'm new to webhosting and I really need some help regarding my domain and webhost.

Alright here it goes.

I have a domain (www.zhrike.info) from www.proserverhosting.com which I only have a domain account.

And I currently have a website (zhrike.freehostia.com) from a free webhosting site www.freehostia.com.

I want www.zhrike.info be the domain name of zhrike.freehostia.com so when a visitor enters www.zhrike.info, they will get into my website in zhrike.freehostia.com.

Is there any other way to do that aside from forwarding www.zhrike.info to zhrike.freehostia.com?
 

Can you tell me what are the necessary things to be done to do this?

I know how to edit DNS records.

I already changed my Domain's DNS from

NS25.DOMAINCONTROL.COM
NS26.DOMAINCONTROL.COM

to

DNS1.FREEHOSTIA.COM
DNS1.FREEHOSTIA.COM

what else should I do?
 
It looks like at a minimum your hosting company offers 5 domains able to be parked on the account.

Contact them regarding parking the domain name. Once it's on the site, you'd just update the DNS information for the domain name to point to the host and you should be set.

Nice point out, I should of gone to there site and done a little researching.
 
Yea, Zhrike. Contact freehostia and tell them that you would like to park your domain zhrike.info to your account.
 
IkY0294 is right if they provide you the option. I don't know if free hosting sites like Freehostia allows you to park domain names there. **********, another free hosting company allows you to use your own domain (instead of a subdomain) for your website hosted there.
 
Another option would be to set up domain forwarding which looks like your domain provider proserverhosting does. So go there and set up your domain to forward to your freehostia site.

1.) Change the DNS setting of zhrike.info into

NS1.FREEHOSTIA.COM
NS2.FREEHOSTIA.COM

Ask for ProServer Hosting for assistance.

2.) Check if you have problems with zhrike.freehostia.com. It is possible that Freehostia servers have problems.

2.) Forward the domain name to zhrike.freehostia.com

hope you got it working! if not contact freehostia if you still have problems. make sure you config DNS right in your contorlpanel
 
probably a dumb question...

Why not just use forwarding. It works fine, no DNS manipulation required. I mean, it you want to keep things free.
