Have you heard of nameview? Apparently they seem to be growing pretty fast according to webhosting.info, yet I have never heard of them.

Nameview ????

I think http://www.nameview.com is some sort of scam. I would not suggest Nameview, Nameview Inc.

Nameview Inc. does not return emails, they don't seem to over any level of support, and the also seem to be a place for general Internet scum.

I would recommend you don't use Nameview Inc.

Hello,

Not heard of this company yet. Well the name suggest some sort of domain registrar company. Check if they are ICANN accredited domain registrar.

Thank you.

Apparently they were not growing as fast as first thought.

Even though it's a year old lets post anyway.

OK they own a /24 IP Allocation of 72.51.27.0/24 which was reallocated to them by Peer 1 Network Inc.

NameView, Inc. is a registered Corporation.

And NAMEVIEW, INC. is an ICANN Acredited Registrar.

So I doubt they are a scam.

Nameview - Suspicious Business

I only hear negatives about them or its registrant. Shieldeing identity leads me to believe some kind of scams. I remember there was a litagation aginst them a while back. Try to do a search with American Girl Nameview
Same reason why I am on this forum as I am trying to find out about them.

So far they ( nameview or its registrant) has used addresses and phone numbers belong to other busuiness. There can be more victims out there.

I will post when I have more information

Not sure if typosquatting is a fault of the registrar. The domain was own by the registrant, and hence any unlawful act technically will befall on the registrant himself, unless of course the registrar is also caught-in-the-act of doing typosquatting.

In addition, an excerpt from http://www.thelen.com/resources/docu...ericanGirl.pdf:

Registrars register domain names on a first-come, first-served basis. Further, registrars are not obliged to examine domain names to ensure that the registrant is not violating the rights of a third-party.

So, I see no reason for us to fault nameview. ;)

There is a reason I am seeking information on them. I have government authority looking for one of the its registrants. It uses our business address. I also have the homeowner coming to my office trying to find out what we are doing because the registrant uses their home numbers.
Nameview Inc. itself use the UPS Store in Vancouver BC as their address. The UPS Store formerly Mail Box Etc. rents out mailbox for small business owners so that samll business owners can receive packages from courier that do not deliver to a mailbox.

You can do a postal code reverse look up from www.canadapost.ca.

I am not blaming Nameview yet, but some of its registrant are not. I know they are not bound by the activitiy of its registrants, but these similar incidents make me wonder.
Since I caanot get more information from here, there is no further reason for me to further my research here.

Nameview Compliant

It seems to be that there is an issue worth looking into if so many of us have had problems with nameview.

I myself, have been trying to contact the owner of a domain, but have never gotten a reply. You would think that the people who buy these domains want to sell them...?!

Is there anything that we can do? I checked out ICANN and they recommend to file a complaint with the better business bureau for not replying to customer inquiries, but that doesn't seem to get me any closer to purchasing the domain name I want!

Any advice would be appreciate. Thanks!

first time too but for the regional market i saw big players i never heard before, so everything is possible.
