Hi Gregorio,

Thank you for such an honest thread. Actually, it is not that uncommon to run into hosting operators who are in their teenage years. There are also, I am sure, a number of success stories of large companies that were started by young entrepreneurs. So in my view, I do not really see why you should be apologizing, its not like you did anything wrong.

You will also find support here. That's what HostingDiscussion.com is meant to be - a helping hand in making the right decisions: whether you are picking a hosting provider or running one. Ask your questions in appropriate forums freely and I am sure you'll find plenty of people who will give the best advice they have for you.

As far as your "should I be in web hosting if I live in New York" questions... I think this is something you have to figure out for yourself. My take on it is - why not? How is NY different from other places? Hosting is still a very much growing industry and its visibly here to stay. And as much as NY is a difficult place to live and work (with its crazy rhythm and relatively expensive living), it is also a town with amazing opportunities - thousands of local shops and small businesses that still do not have presence online.

As long as you don't betray your clients or become an overseller it is ok. Do your best and be patient...The clients will come.

Gregorio, as Artashes said there is no need to apologise a simple look on the web will show you hundreds of success stories that have branched from those younger if not the same age as yourself. The only thing any entrepreneur needs is common sense a good financial backing, an idea and a passion for that idea, the final of which you obviously already have :) “Don’t be afraid to ask”

There have been many successful hosting companies and many failures from younger entrepreneurs and I couldn’t quote statistics however id say it would possibly be no more or less than that of the older generation, in my opinion the younger entrepreneur would probably make a smaller loss in that situation.

And I’m sure many of us will own up to have dabbled in hosting 14+ onwards with small companies web design and the other related areas. Needless to say you’ve found already that all of us are more than happy to help :)

Note | I stand corrected 13+ Onward :P

I was 13 when I first started and failed 4 times before I got to Fusion-Hosts...FH took off and was great but my health brought it down. Will be 20 on x-mas so 7 years of experience...Wow, time sure does fly :)

Glad to know that you own a hosting company at this age and I think you are doing well.

I would suggest you to make sure that you company offers good quality support and start marketing your website wherever possible which will give you a lot of benefit :)

Best of luck!!

I don't know why you're apologizing. I haven't gone back over your posts, but I don't recall anything off the wall. I think it's great that you're here, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. Everyone makes mistakes ... successful entrepreneurs learn from them, tweak their business and grow stronger with time. My take is that you'll be fine ... hang in there, keeping asking questions, and have an open mind.

To your success
- Steve

Gregorio Ramos is a great man. I know for a fact that he's 15 years old. He worked for me some time back and he's a reliable good willed hard working person. He's dedicated to success. He brought me a lot of clients whilst working for me and its really sad that I cant hire him again. He was a great credit and he's a great person and greg man I don't think anyone will think any less of you as all of the people on HostingDiscussion will understand/think this as well. :)

- Many Thanks,
