Mozilla Composer

Does anyone know if it's possible to get hold of the Mozilla composer by itself and not as part of the Mozilla browser. I hate having to launch mozilla every time I want to use it.

Hey this is great news. I use composer all the time. Great to know someone will continue to improve it.

Thanks for that link.

I just checked out the to do list and it looks great. I really am pleased with this.

Anyone know if it's possible to donate to the development of Composer. I know I can donate to the development of Mozilla but I only want to support composer. That's the only part of Mozilla I actually use.

I'd contact Daniel Glazman personally. I'm sure he'd appreciate any donation to the cause. And he'll be able to direct you to the most appropriate place for donations.

gooooogle any donations would probably go towards the same thing anyway, I would just think donating to the mozilla browser would be just the same as just doing it for the composer but it might not be, i dont know a huge amount about the mozilla dev team

Dunno about that. As I said before, contact Daniel. Let us know the results, cos I'm interested myself. Anything that makes creating standards-compliant sites a bit easier (and isn't made by Macromedia) is good in my books! :)

Just to update an old thread, in case anyone didn't know (I only found the link yesterday so it's news to me), the standalone version of Composer is in development at http://www.nvu.com/

It's being sponsored by Lindows.com, and although the main focus right now is to get a Linux release out, it won't be long before a Windows release follows as the code is based on Mozilla.

While it isn't going to be a match for Dreamweaver (yet!), this looks a promising start. I, for one will be setting up my spare PC with a fresh install of RedHat 9.0 and giving this a whirl when it's released! :)

Very good. I hope they'll support Mac OS X. If not I'll just have to install some form of Linux on my Mac. Although I might be able to run it through apples emulation software X11.
