It seems like its taking me longer to announce the winner with every passing month. The amount of posts has grown since the beginning of the year and its time consuming to go through every single post, fairly evaluate contributions, take notes on members that have added lots of value, etc. As long as I don't procrastinate too much, it should be a problem (yet).
In the month of May we had quite a few new players who entered the Top 10, but I also wanted to do something slightly different this month, bend the rules slightly and highlight a couple of members whose posting has really brought some thinking, before announcing the winner. These guys are not in Top 10, but I was very impressed by their contributions: Lagniappe (from LagniappeInternet.com) did a fantastic job. Every time Lagniappe makes a post, it is carefully laid out in such a way that it condenses a lot of good information and shows the level of expertise this member has. No doubt Lagniappe is a member to watch, and I really hope he ends this month in the Top 10. Another member representing NewIdeaHost.com made just a few posts, but all were quite very memorable. This post alone deserves a bonus.
siforek, who has just joined our team as a HostingDiscussion.com Developer, went all in last month with some good development talk, assistance and contributions made in the programming sphere he seems to feel very confident in.
Finally, let's get to the winner and an honorable mention for the month of May 2009. Little surprise here I think. For the third straight month, he remains the person to beat (although members I mentioned above have got what it takes). The Roger Federer of writing, Steve from Hostirian.com delivers another month of level of participation. His elegant and carefully built posts, full of juicy information seem to never go out of demand. And for that I salute his performance and thank him for sticking around!
Honorable mention:
Zachary McClung, the organizer of this year's first virtual web hosting conference Web Host Boot Camp, in my opinion, produced some great posts (mostly in the billing/accounting/marketing area he is most familiar with). Plenty members have reacted and conversed about some of his ideas, which is exactly what this content is meant to produce. For this reason, Zachary earned an honorable mention for the month of May 2009.
Congrats to all Top 10 who made it this month!
