The first month of this year will serve as a great example of the true spirit of this contest. We saw a battle of some members, trying to get to the very top in the rankings, and it complicated decision-making a bit.

Nevertheless, looking at month-end results, it is hard not to agree that handsonhosting continued his amazing run from Dec 2008 and contributed a wealth of fresh new knowledge and insightful support for other members during this month with a total of 116 posts. For this reason, handsonhosting, hands down, becomes the most valuable member this month. For the second consecutive time, cogratulations to Conor!

The secret prize this month is 5,000 impressions in our Vertical Rectangle 240x400 banner position on HostingDiscussion.com - roughly 25-30 days of advertising exposure. The winner will be contacted in private.

Honorable mention:
Lesli (7th ranked) has earned a well-deserved honorable mention this month. An honorable mention celebrates other member(s) who came as close runner-ups in the contest.

Finally, congrats to all Top 10 members of the month. It is cheerful to see both loyal members as well as some new names who are among the most active users of HostingDiscussion.com in the month of January.

As we move into February 2009, the big question remains: Will Conor (a.k.a. handsonhosting) be able to continue on his winning streak, or will we see a new face taking the title of the most valuable member next month?

Just one of those impressions could result in hundreds of dollars in business.
Seems like a damn good prize to me.
 
116 posts? I spend too much time online! ;) I had no idea I posted that much - what a sad life I lead :)

Thanks again for the great prize. I wouldn't say I was trying to "win" anything or post more than others etc. I will say however that I have seen a lot of great topics this month and a lot of valuable information being posted by all.

The prize is not something to strive for. It's nice to be recognized and receiving some banner slots etc is a welcomed reward, but the point of forums is support for all members of the community. I'm happy to contribute when I can.

I doubt I can retain my "title", but I'll give it a shot ;)

Congratulations handsonhosting, I've gone through your posts and found most of them are related to real life experience, you really deserve it, hope your valuable contributions in future. :)

I've now out of the running for the valuable user competition, so get in there and start cracking ;) We seem to rehash many of the same threads over and over, but I'm more than happy to share anything that I've run into along the way.
