Anybody get a link on the MDHP? I did back in September I believe right when there were only a few ads on there. I am impressed that the site still referres quite a few visitors each day. I only have a small 100x100px add right at the top.

Did anybody else try something similar and has it taken off? I personally have not as I think there are too many people trying it.

My mother showed me this site.. too many ads for anyone to possibly see them all.. I don't know if it's worth it..

I have had about 1300 unique visitors from the site in January on a 100px2 ad. None of it will be targeted because many will be random visitors just clicking around. Not a bad increase in traffic though. It accounts for about 75 - 80% of referrals to the site I advertised.

A lot of people have gone down the road of copying the idea and adding a little twist to it. I think only a handful have actually managed to make something out of it.

It actually helps hosts too, I think we have had 2 accounts open recently with pixel ideas :)

I guess it's time to sit down and really think of what has NOT been done :D The reason MDHP took off so well is because of the media attention it got. With out all that it was really nothing as no one would pay to advertise on a site that didnt get coverage.

I'm thinking... no ideas yet though :) LOL

Some estimate more then 20k for marketing. Not sure if an official number has ever been given. With the conversion rates from $ to £ I still think he did very well from it although he wont be a millionaire. Great idea though :)

Wonder how much Paypal got in fees :D

They get enough from me, nevermind that much going through them.

There was a site like this where you could get something thrown at his viper, just to wreck it.

Wonder how thats doing now...looked like a lot more fun :D

That sounds funny. You will have to find a link :) I want to take a look at that.

I believe Alex used 2 payment processors... 2CO and PayPal. I think PayPal first but they stopped his account I think because of taking in a lot of money and they had to verify it, which is normal as I have had to do that (Just not as quickly as he did :)).

I cannot remember the fee's. Is it something like 5%? I would imagine they took more then we all earn in a year though.
