Why are these devices so preferred before other routers ?

They're good device especially the cloud core series and offer a very competitive alternative to more expensive solution e.g cisco etc, They also come packed of feature and are usually very stable.

I suppose because they're pretty price competitive. As long as they do the job, pricing does lead to popularity.
