EcommerceTimes.com reports: "Microsoft has unveiled a streamlined Internet search site that looks and acts much like Google, marking the software giant's opening salvo in what promises to be an epic battle for Web searching dominance. The site, found at search.msn.com, features a clean, white screen that separates ads from other search results, rather than mixing them as Microsoft searches used to do."

What does everybody think?

Whether it is a Google clone or not (it is still powered by Yahoo! by the way), Microsoft if famous for arriving to web markets late and then taking away competitor's share away.

Looks and feels like google not sure yet if its going to replace my main search tool but i made some comparasants (sp?) using search term "hosting":

Well the header on both Google and MSN are both the same size (well abouts). Google seems to display less advertising up there as well as displaying the related news for the search term. so google seems better uptop.

Google finds more results but im not sure any one looks beyond about the 50th result.

Google displays less results per page but loads in around the same time. is msn faster??

Google you can run through pages on msn theres just a Next >> button lets hope you dont want to look through all 27562327 results :p

I like the Sponsored Sites box on MSN it looks better but seems googlie!

Any way verdict on 1 search term and one use: I still think Google is the best search engine but only for one reason MSN has no page numbers! (I love the msn first search page! simple small and looks good!)

I wonder if the traffic coming from MSN will increase because of the much cleaner presentation. I used to get close to nothing from MSN.

If Microsoft puts out a better product than Google then I'll use it.
I don't owe Google anything so I have no loyalties.

If they don't put out a better product, I'll stick with Google.

Well said - I think I'll use google more so out of habit, unless I manually think "MSN Search"

Having google as a homepage doesn't help, hehe :)

It will take a lot to get them to make me manually type in a search engine address.

Since I install the Google Toolbar, I have had no popups (almost 5000 blocked so far) and I have a convenient little search bar waiting for me at all times.

Same MSN toolbar now being widely advertised around the web, including CNet.com. That will certainly get attention of most.

Yes I noticed since the MSN messenger upgrade that my Internet Explorer now works properly and a shiny new toolbar has been introduced :)

I don't think it feels like Google much, I must say it's very clean. I'll test it out we'll see if it can deliver results like Google can.
