Managed.com Serious Downtime

As we all know Managed.com has recently appeared in the market for a strong solution to relatively cheap servers. Up until now they have provided a rather good service with decent support.

However as of last night Managed.com's network has been experiencing extremely high ping times 800ms and above and even packetloss reaching 95%.

Are they turning into another Burstnet/Nocseter deal?

I think they are overwhelming themselves with new servers and craming them in where-ever possible. Mean time the support is getting a little worse and the network is undergoing a lot of strain!

I personally think that Datacenters should have a limit. Just like a seating capacity in restaurants.

So far we have 11 hours of downtime....

I believe they are over some strain.. They need to get their act together, and fast. They will start turning into BurstNET!! 11 hrs is bad, get your custs and get out fast...

Wow thats a lot of downtime.
Do they have their customer forums yet?

I dont know what their support is like because I havent used it first hand but have heard some bad things about it but to be honest, I have also seen some very good comments about their service with comparison to their cheap price.

i totally agree that datacentres should have some kind of limit in them Jonthan, Im sure some of the bigger ones (that are more expensive) would have some soft of limit worked out in their business plan already.
Maybe managed also has, but theirs is just a little too high ;)

Looks like their server is back online again (10:30AM EST) still having a few ping spikes...

Thank god I have our clients cloned out on 2 boxes.... 11 hrs downtime would of killed my 99% uptime garuantee.

Their support has been ok for me. However I have never spoken to anyone when calling "Technical Support" but their "Sales" department always seems to answer.... thats a bad combo right there.... they keep selling while support keeps playing catchup.

The past few times I have emailed support@managed.com I normally get a response within 3-4 hours. But that is only during their business hours. 8am-5pm PST. Anythingoutside of their business hours takes 6-12 hours to get a response..

Vovex, did I read your post right... you have servers with Managed.com?

I can only presume you don't know that the same man who was behind UnitedColo is also behind Managed.
There are lots of articles and documents on WebHostingTalk that have been put together by some nice users there showing how Managed is overselling, how it in fact is the same person behind the UnitedColo fiasco and also various other things....

<< They need to get their act together, and fast >>

Max, they'll get their act togehter no doubt... probably by doing the same they did with UnitedColo and sell it off to SagoNet.

<< Anythingoutside of their business hours takes 6-12 hours to get a response.. >>

As far as I was aware, they only claimed to offer support in office hours.... meaning isn't this kind of expected?
I'm not sure about you, or anyone else, however if a company told me that support is only provided in office hours I'd expect this and probably worse.

Anjay: I read something along the lines about United Colo being involved with managed.com. To be honest I dont expect that great of a support team for servers that are under $100/month
