Madlovik, my language

My recent interest in linguistics has given me the urge to do what so many others have done before me. Create my own language. I call it Madlovik. I am making it as a hobby and it turns out to be quite a popular hobby to. There are loads of languages out there created during the last ten years. Even guides to creating a language are available on the internet which is why I decided to try it out myself. I'm currently working on the grammar and I've made a few words.

fato?n - father
guto?n - boy

I am making a brief overview of the language that I will put on the internet. It's all for fun really. I don't expect anyone to actually learn it, just a bit of fun.

P.S. Any suggestions on what kind of a domain name to get?

madlovik.com
madlovik.net
madlovik.org
etc

.com would be best :)
Or if you can afford it, even get .net and .com

I think that would be a very hard thing to do, create a language..
There would be so many complex things to think about, its bad enough just trying to learn one hehe

Hmm. Irritating. One of the letters my language uses is not compatible with this forum. The letter seems to get replaced with ?

Also as I said it's just for fun and I am enjoying it. I never expect to be as advanced as German and English, etc.

Also you learn a lot about language when creating one.

Maybe the text is in HTML on your site but the forum doesnt allow HTML, its all vb code?
Thats the only thing I can think of, thats one thing you have to consider in your language now, if people can use all the characters ;)

Yeah I was thinking about that today. The use of my language online. I know people are not going to read texts in my language online but I need to be sure everyone can see them for my site about it. I've been considering alternatives and the most sensible one is to just have my whole alphabet based on the Latin alphabet (which incase you don't know is exactly the same as the current english one).

Maybe when I get more advanced I can move on to these kind of special characters with roofs on them but until then maybe I should just stick to the Latin alphabet. I'll just have to spend the night thinking about it and see what I decide to do about the whole thing.

The accent letters like à, è and so on seem to work fine on the internet. Maybe I should use them instead. That's a possibility.

What exactly do you mean that you don't like spoken language? Do you like written language?

Quite a few famous people were conlangers like I have now become. Even J R R Tolkien has created several languages. Some of which have a beautiful alphabet.

I mean spoken foreign languages (I do like English). Written is better, but not much.

Created languages are nice. Rivenese (Riven sequel to myst) was an interesting one

Hmm. I have not heard of that one. I will have to check it out. Might be interesting.

I have also decided to try out the letters
à, è, ì, ò and ù as the all seem to work on all the computers I've tried it on. Also seems to work on this forum. Mostly due to the fact that they originally come from actual languages.

I think they would work because they are very common.
They would be used in a lot of sites/forums which are french and I think there are a few big ones, so vbulletin would account for the characters in languages which are spoken by a lot of people

Yes I am going to use them. It's the best idea I can get at the moment (don't feel like inventing a whole alphabet (yet)).

what i dont get is how would you go about inventing a new alphabet when those new letters wont be on your keyboard lol.

My work is mostly done by hand. It's much more creative you see. Anyway. Once I feel up to it I can create a font that will make it compatible with my computer. Quite a few conlangers do this now because it's so creative and less limited. There's a whole world of opportunities out there if you create the alphabet yourself.
