Lynx browser - anyone?

Curious,

Does anyone here use it?
Have you ever used it in the past?
Do you even know about it?

Been thinking of changing from Internet Explorer to something, yet I need something which is light, quick and easy to use. I don't need a lot of useless features which I'll never use - I don't need extra things like a mail client, etc.

Anyone know of any browser like this, or anything about Lynx?

Thanks. :)

I used it long-long ago (early 1990s). It was at that point a text-only browser, so needless to say, your web viewing experience would be a WHOLE lot different. Also, at that point, Lynx didn't do tables, either.

Never tried it but I am using FireFox.
have you checked that out?
Pretty good browser, a lot better than IE I think.
I just updated last week and the newer version is even better than the one I was using for about 4 months, only ever had a few problems and they are all fixed in the latest version.

You need something that has tabs so you can browse more than one site in the one window, makes it a lot easier.
That was the first reason I moved from IE to firebird

Thanks for all the replies everyone; and also thanks for the Mozilla Firefox recommendations.

I checked out Mozilla Firefox, and decided to download and install it - Very nice I must say. I'm still getting used to the tabs because they're at the top, so I sometimes don't see 'em, however I'm sure I'll get used to them eventually (Anyway to put them on the side?).

Otherwise, very nice indeed. :)

Also if you are trying lynx try links as well. For a text browser it does a good job of showing page rendering
