Hi Guys
This could be a simple question, but it's very urgent.
When I start my computer I receive the following message:
"Network Adapter Realtek RTL 8019 PNP Ethernet is not working properly"
Under Network Adapters in the Devise manager, the same devise is also shown not to be working.
I take it that this means that I can't a home network. But does this also mean that I won't be able to connect to the Internet via a DSL or cable modem?
By the way, Under Network Adapters in the Devise manager, there is another devise called
"Realtek RTL 8019 PNP LAN", which is working properly.
Could any one please help me with this? Will I be able to connect to the Internet via a DSL or cable modem? I can connect now through a dial-up network.

It depends on which card you actually have installed.
Try deleting them both in control panel and restarting you computer.
The correct one should re-install.

Are you sure that it will just reinstall?
Shouldn't I have the driver files or something like that?
Please not that I'm sort of technologically challenged.

Normally WinXP will have the drivers on board.
Do you have the original disk that came with the card or the drivers disk that came with the computer?
