Do you know of any good vBulletin forum hosts?
i mean hosts that specialise in either forum hosting or vBulletin hosting.
I would like to do a bit of research into hosts that specialise in forum hosting instead of normal shared hosting.

What do you know about any companies that do?
have you seen any good review and have you used any yourself?

I've been doing some research, including reading in the hosting section at vBulletin.com. The ones that are repeatedly mentioned in a positive light are:

www.realwebhost.net
www.f5hosting.com
www.communehost.com
www.insiderhosting.com

CommuneHost.com actually touts themselves as being for communities. All the above also use vBulletin on their own web sites.

I've actually been posting over at the RealWebHost.com forum about a problem I'm having with my current host. Their responses have been in reasonable time and with a helpful attitude. If you'd like to read it:

forum hosting

I don't know any companies that specifically host forums, but i do know a few forums hosted with some excellent providers. Geekvalley.com is with Globalwebhost.com who are in the same Level(3) facility as we are in. I guess that you could ping the server and check speeds. There are also a few other forums being hosted, and so far they have been up the whole time i have been posting to them. Check out GWH and see what they have to offer.

I don't know of hosts that specialize in forum hosting. To be honest, I'm not sure what would be done to do this. All you need is PhP/MySQL. vBulletin is optimized pretty well so even a large number of concurrent users won't slow down a decent server all that bad.

As for Real Web Host, I would agree they are a great company. I hosted with them for a year, then re-sold through them for close to a year before I got my own managed dedicated servers. I don't think there is any greater compliment then to say that I trusted creating a company based on their ability. I don't think I would still be around right now if I didn't start with Real Web Host.

No it was a different website...I cant even remember the address now though.
I do know what your talking about though gooooogle, it was a site hosting invision boards for free.
Similar to that domain

Not sure what software these guys are using, but I used them back in 1999-2000 or so. They were starting to slow down big time back then. They must have made some upgrades because they are still alive and kicking.
