Keywords in Domains

Do keywords in domains need to be separated with hyphens in order for search engines to read them?
Last I heard, that was true. Although the value of keywords in domains is so reduced these days (due to abuse), that you should probably just focus on making the domain short and easy to remember and forget about putting keywords in there. Just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure they do however, I haven't noticed much improvement from the hypens and keywords. I wouldn't really worry about at this time. Just get a lot of backlinks and you'll be fine ;)

Well in my experience i'd say having a keyword or 2 on your domain name always makes a difference in many ways, Such as SEO or Branding and in terms of business and marketing. For an example having a keyword that directly implies to your website category will tells your traffic what your site is all about, if your industry is web hosting and if you come up with a domain name like www.blablabla.com you will kill your business even before you start it, but if you add a keyword that directly represent you industry such as www.123webhosting.com the surfer knows what your site is about. and so its a good thing to have a related keyword on your domain name. Rather than not having a one.

Yes, keywords in domains need to be separated with hyphens in order for search engines to read them because most of the popular engines read the hyphen (-) as a space.

Like www.Your-Important-Keyword.com and not www.YourImportantKeyword.com

Using important keywords in your domain with hyphens in between the keywords help help give your rankings a boost.

I have seen good results with hyphenated domains rather than single long domain which most of my users tend to forget or stumble upon spellings besides memorizing issues. :)

Easier-to-remember-hyphenated than rememberinglongnonhyphenated domains.

Yeah you need to separate the domain name with hyphen as the search engine won't be able to understand the word in a whole and that would cost you from the SEO point of view too.
