Joomla and WordPress Issue

Joomla and WordPress sites causing continuous inbound spamming through contact forms by the qq.com domain.
Please suggest...

Obviously, qq.com likes your Joomla and WordPress sites. Users normally use Contact Form 7 with WordPress, not sure with Joomla. To set a baseline, what have you tried to date?

qq.com is a domain run on the Chinanet servers and Chinanet is run by the Chinese Government and they just ignore any king of spam reports to a point that spamhaus and spamcop no longer file spam reports with Chinanet as they know they get ignored.

Try enabling recaptcha, you will need to get a key from Google, put it in the joomla recaptcha plugin, and enable it. Then select recaptcha as the default for your site in the global configuration.

If you don't need the contact form then disabling it.

If you want to block them then you can use an extension such as admin tools pro which allows for geographical blocking.

Use captcha in contact form or better use google form as contact form. You can also log the IP for form sender and block the IP of spammer in your server firewall

If you don't care about the qq.com domain indexing you, you can block them from indexing your site. Just check the source/referral and block them.

As others said, a recaptcha will help and Google has a great one! Enable it on your comments and contact form and you'll shave the spam down to minimal numbers.

But if qq.com is hitting your server and wasting server resources, it's best to block them at a firewall level.

Implement some sort of CAPTCHA to prevent automated submissions. You can also have "hidden fields" as a secondary layer of protection. Bots tend to fill up all details even in hidden fields, so if that field has a value it's probably spam.
