If this is the kind of publicity this kid from Australia, Germany, Austria, or wherever else, who runs iWipo web hosting forum is looking for, then by all means, I'll be happy to help him with it.

I travelled during the month of September, so I wasn't that quick to react, but I have received numerous reports from members of our community that informed me of receiving an advertising message from another new member advertising his web hosting forum. The advertising came through a Private Message system, but in all cases, the content of the message was the same:

Now, Tim Liton, iWipo hosting forum administrator, I have something to tell you, so listen up. Poaching members of another community is a despicable tactic and one that will neither gain you any friends in this industry, nor will build you a respectable community.

Why would anyone in their right mind still think that spamming is a good idea, especially among people who hate it and fight against it on a daily basis?

You've already burned bridges with at least a couple of influential hosting communities that I know of, so are you trying to damage your reputation and the one of your community on purpose? Because you are doing an excellent job doing so.

On that note, Tim, I sincerely hope that with this thread you gain the publicity you were looking for for iWipo when you came here to spread the word. Best of luck to you.

Warmest regards,
Artashes

sorry Art could not resist this

wonder how long it will remain before it is removed.

Well, Tim Liton has contacted us and apologized to all users of HostingDiscussion. According to his message, he hires people to invite others to his forum.

While this is a nice gesture, this does not explain why his accounts on other forums would also be banned (some of which are under his actual name). Why both the violator's account and Tim Liton's accounts IP addresses are both from Germany, even though he just mentioned he is actually in Denver (while his DP account points Austria as his location). And, finally, why a person he supposedly hired would sign as him personally, or why he would even allow someone to register on forums under his personal name.

That also does not of course change anything about what took place. As much as he might regret the decision, everyone has to take responsibility for their actions.

What is removed?

What is removed?

Excellent of what? Thats my name and thats my sitename. I never done a spam to your forum!!!

So please remove the thread its not intresting to talk about that i was not.

On the contrary, I think it is both interesting and educational for others to talk about this case of how poor marketing choices can damage a product or a website.

Excellent of what?

Excellent that the more members of your community (and those considering to sign up) know about it, the better. You poach members from other communities by spamming them and it is totally irrelevant who does it. You are ultimately responsible for the marketing of your website.

Tim, how old are you?

To be honest, at this point I am more worried whether you are eligible to participate in our community in accordance with Rule 1.2 of our policy.

There are 100 of users making spam in my forum and thay get just ban. And 1 made spam here (if he did) and you are making panic. Why are you scared so much?

What you on about, i run a successfull hosting business for the last 11 years and i know how to spell customer. Also i never spammed your forum, what i did was open a thread and post a copy of Artashes post from here. i NEVER sent spam by PM to any of your forum members. or spammed your forum.
Is it not right that your forum members should know how you try and recruit new members.
Answer this it these spams were from as you say your staff then why on this forum and other forums you are banned, signed in YOUR NAME.
