Is there a good billing software apart from WHMCS?

You could use HostBill or ClientExec or AWBS

I would personally use WHMCS or AWBS as I have had excellent experiences with both.

WHMCS is easier to use. AWBS is also a good system but requires a bit more of a learning curve.

ClientExec and AWBS are OK. Modern Bill does the job but is overly complicated. WHMCS is by far the best choice in my opinion after using numerous scripts.

Actually.. while I was taking a stroll around WHT (I know.. I'm sorry!), they recommended a panel called BoxBilling. It's actually free and we've been playing around with it and it seems to work great. At the moment we're using WHMCS for our main production as we know it works, but in the future it may be a possibility that we make the switch. No reason at all.. just seems to be something different and seems to be quite unique.

yes i have used this in a test environment which is OK for the free version, but you need the PRO version ($5.95 a month) if you really want to use this in a full production environment.

trouble is Hostbill lost a lot of clients when they scrapped monthly licences

why vote for Hostbill over WHMCS when you are actually using WHMCS.

as stated earlier hostbill have almost killed themselves with the small/started businesses by no longer offering monthly licences direct. to use HB on a monthly licence you will need to find a HB reseller as they can offer monthly licences.
