I was just looking at the alexa ranking for hostingrefuge.com and I noticed this about the speed:

Speed: Very Slow (83% of sites are faster), Avg Load Time: 3.4 Seconds

The site loads very quickly for me, is it slow for others?

This is the current rank by the way:

Traffic Rank for hostingrefuge.com: 174,761

Rob it may be that 83% of the other sites may load faster.

That may be because they are plain Text sites with very few images. This site has a lot of database i/o. It works fast for me.

I did a traceroute on my connection to HR and its about 37ms

Loads pretty good for me. Most of the time, it depends on what time of day you are on, and where you are located. Network traffic can affect all of us at different times of the day. Just depends on distance from where you are, to the server.

LOL I was just going to post the other day and ask John why it was so slow lately loading. I thought maybe he had been working on the forum so decided to wait, but still kinda slow on ISDN.

Ok I will try something to speed the site up :)
Try pinging the site and see what that is like, that way I will know if its the connection or just too much on each page to load.

My ping.

I'm on a 56k, and I find it ok. I don't find it too slow, nor too fast - really depends the day for me. Some days I just don't bother being on the Internet and finish off all my paper work while other days the Internet is extremely fast for a 56k.
