Just wondering, how many of you use IRC? Or for that matter, provide IRC services to clients?

I've recently fallen in love with IRC, so was just curious

I love IRC.. its my life, we have a network of 2500-3500+ users which are all local people my age.. really neat.

I sit on IRC servers, we allow them as long as they are not linked to any other servers.

We've had to block IRC servers for customers as found it causes nothing but trouble overall with DDOS attacks but clients are ok. Then again unlinked servers are ok if people ask nicely

What is so bad about linked IRC for the hosts?

I use IRC every now and again just for chat.
I don't have much time to go on IRC though.
I know someone that runs an IRC network which he has just started so I try go on to help build it up a little.
Only go on once a week at most to be honest

IRC is addictive though, once you start going on more, you cant stop!

I've never used IRC and I probably never will either. I prefear to use forums where I can think before I post.

That's what I used to think, before I started using IRC. I only started using it about a month ago, but now I cant live without it

Well, I have used IRC, but I'm not a fan of it. I really preffer AIM, MSN, and others. I don't like chat rooms in general.

How can you not like IRC as much as the others? It's far superior to MSN, AIM etc in many ways.

I don't really like IRC.
There are other programs for chat that are a lot better with a lot more options
