March 14, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- You're just about to land that large account and everything looks rosy until the prospect starts asking about insurance and how they will be covered if something goes wrong. This is a valid concern, especially among customers that anticipate a lot of transactions or maintain sensitive data for others online.

I am in the process now, it is hard to find a company to insure you as a host here (Canada)... all they seem to offer is disability insurance for me incase I get attacked by a server or something... My agent is still looking at options for insuring my data, servers, and customers... I'll keep you posted.

Sounds interesting, make sure to let us know how it goes. This would be a great market to start an insurance company in. Sounds like big business!
 
I will indeed keep you posted, with all the web hosts out there plenty of potential customers... Kinda worried about some of the smaller datacenters future as the net speeds up and people "Consume" more bandwidth but insuring hosts in certain DC's could be a VERY lucrative venture.
