Hi friends,

We have a web development site <url removed>. I want to know how can i increase PR of this site? Please help.

try to gain as many quality back links for your site as you can, directory submissions and social bookmarking will help you in this,

As suggested by Hosting India build backlinks, it will help you in both Page rank and improving your ranking in SERPs.

Posting on related forums with a good signature also helps quite a bit. It takes time however, but then again, everything takes time.

Start by cleaning up the broken links on your site. If you're looking for back links, your site needs to first be professional in appearance and functionality, and then be relevant (organically).

Having a signature and posting on big name forums like this one help out quite a bit. The more relevant the site is to your services, the better the PR build up will be.

It will take some time, but it will help you out in the end.

1. Update your website every day by adding more unique content. If you site has some information for a visitor then it is 100% chance for him to come back to your site again.
2. Provide inside linking to your website. For example you can provide a link of your previous and next articles on an article page. Or you can provide a list of related articles so visitor can remains a long time on your website.
3. Build a sitemap for your website (XML based for Google and text based for yahoo) and submit sitemap to Google and yahoo. Get a Google webmaster account and sign in there to see your website statistics. It will also tell you if you site is indexed or not, and your page rank in Google.
4.Trade your link with other web owners. Put their link on your website and they will put your link in them. This is for free and the very fast way to improve your visibility in search engines.

PR is overrated and not a ranking factor by google or any other search engine. You want to focus on links, searchability, keywords and things that drive traffic to your site.

PR is like an extra straw in a McDonalds Bag. You get excited for a second and say "Hey, they gave me an extra straw!" but after a few seconds that fades as really it's of little to no use to you! ;)

Focus on quality links and quality traffic - PR increases automatically, but is really just an aftereffect that is not used by search engines to rank your site.

PR is only depends on backlinks and could only be improved by getting more and more quality and relevant backlinks from PR pages.

Start blog, write articles - good ones - if there will be such - you might get quoted, baclinked on valuable site. One good article baclinked couple times works awesome for PR- better than spammy comments etc.

Posting on related forums with a good signature also helps quite a bit. It takes time however, but then again, everything takes time.

This is what I was going to say. This really does work but it takes time like all the other methods. Dedication is the biggest factor to increasing PR. :agree:

This is one of the best analogies I've seen yet. :D

You know me - I have way too much stuff that bounces around in my head some times! You'd never guess what I had for lunch that day, and what I found in my bag ;) hehe

The more detailed your website is, and most importantly, if your site is presented without any dead links, your site will improve gradually overtime, but of course, you must be the engine that pushes your site more and more to get advertised throughout the world wide web.
