How to use a Unsenet

How the heck do I get a program to use a usenet. The one I'm currently trying to use is soc.culture.esperanto. I can read it just fine using google.com but not any of my usenet programs. What the heck is a NNTP server and how do I find out what the soc.culture.esperanto NNTP server is?

That's one thing I've owndered too, how can you get onto usenet?

Other news things have something like news://microsoft.com and then you can get to all the microsoft newsgrousp. What's it for usenet?
