How to tell difference between Dedicated and Shared/VPS hosting

Hello people,
Forgive me if I say anything silly. I am a noob. Is it possible to tell whether a site is hosted on a shared or dedicated server other than going to the hoster?...
I am trying to find out were my site is hosted: dedicated, vps or shared. I have access to the CP and on one of the screens it says Virtual server, but I am not sure whether this is a definite sign that the server is shared/VPS.
I'd much appreciate an expert input.
Thank you all...

Setup phpsysinfo (phpsysinfo.sourceforge.net) and let us see. If it says something such as venet then it is a VPS.

There are a few things that tell.

Not all ways. Virtuozzo for example, emulates eth0. So you won't find venet.

One clue is by checking the kernel. VPS kernels are custom built. Meaning... kernel-xen, kernel-vz, etc because they are created and managed by their respective planels.

But unfortunately, you don't have access to this feature via cPanel nor WHM, only SSH as root can help.

I seriously, doubt there is any possibility of finding it out.
