hi,

i m new user in this forum,
Basically i want some information on web hosting , i have ready my web application now i want to deploy that on server

i have seen many of the hosting sites provides the space and server, from that some one suggest me godaddy.com service .

wht i can do in this case , whr i can go ? now i have to start from my domain name registration, ones i register a domain shall i by a server or a space

wht are the procedure for same , how i can upload my site to that server using ftp or wht ? which is best plan

plz i m very newbie in this , so plz help me thanx

I'd find a reliable shared hosting provider with great support who can help give you step by step instructions on how to get your website on the internet. What sort of budget do you have? This will help us to point you in the right direction

Sounds like a Dedicated Server may be overkill for you at the moment since you're starting out, however it depends on what target you're after and what type of advertising you're doing. If you're still in testing and building phase, then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a shared hosting package of some sort.

Much will depend on the application you speak of. It could be a store, a message board, a blog or any number of 1,000 common scripts people use on their websites. A little more detail on what you're planning to do and what server requirements you need will help narrow down what type of host you should be looking for.
 
Hi Mark. I'm trying to reconcile your signature with your question. As others have said, we really need more information about the application you're talking about before making an educated recommendation.

Is your signature a link to your blog?
 
Mark, you should check out HJ and talk to one of the guys in support over there. I'm sure they have an answer for you.
 
If you are staring out, you can go for a shared hosting. They are cheap and will help you to lean things. You can even try free web hosting out there.
 
Everything depends on what are you running.It can be windows or linux hositng , IF you run .aspx you have to search for hosting provider that supports ASP.NET .In most cases it is more expensive than linux hosting.
 
Some shared hosting providers who offer linux hosting with cpanel have aspx extensions installed, These hosts are generally less expensive but a true windows hoster with plesk panel would work the best.
 
First thing you need is select a hosting provider which fulfills all your hosting needs. They will provide you hosting details/cpanel details. You can get FTP details and can easily upload files by using and free available FTP client software.
 
Well I think you would need to say what exactly this web application is. Generally you need a web host and a domain to create a website.

As you saying that you just have register your domain through go daddy. than you want to host the site on server. than hosting provider where you register your domain, they provide the desire login name and password & you just have to open your ftp account and login with your details and you can easily upload your files on the server.
 
Godaddy is a bit expensive in every product..but there service worth it..

can you be more specific about the web application you are under need of...

Hi markwilson :)
As you say the web application is ready. You need to find a good hosting provider which meets the requirements for your web application.
There are many hosting providers have facility to register domain name as well.
Offcourse to publish the website you will need the space on server.
You can upload the site via ftp or via file manager from hosting control panel.

Generally you will use a FTP Client, CuteFTP, FileZilla, etc to name a few
